Ranked as the 3rd Greatest Acoustic Guitar album of all time, Phil Keaggy's "Beyond Nature" is #1 in my book.
Raised on Christian music, I was familiar with the Christian radio music scene. Every other weekend I can remember going to my dads, and would be listening to more Christian music.. except this music wasn't on the radio. With the tunes of Larry Norman, Resurrection Band, Leaderdogs for the Blind, East West, and many more filling the air, one stood out from the rest. There was this album called "Beyond Nature" that my dad referred me to. Nothing but acoustic instrumentals, it quickly became a favorite of mine, as well as my #1 inspiration for playing the acoustic guitar.
There is something to be said about the music this album brings. The memories and reflections it can conjure with it, both pleasant and heart broken. I often find myself reflecting within to the tunes of this album, sometimes as if it were my own personal psychiatrist. As my grandma once said, "music has the power to tame the savage beast". And I highly recommend this album for everybody.
